It's gone exactly where we said it would: the enthusiastic push for abortion up until birth, and for killing an abortion survivor if he or she has what is considered a deformity or defect.
The supporters of this have a much greater deformity than any of those they would murder - a profound deformity of the heart and soul.

Sniff Sniff
So, I'm on maintenance chemo (which doesn't have side effects - yay!) and headed out for treatment this morning. Was crawling down my pot-holed street when I remembered that I hadn't put my numbing cream on. I have a chemo port in my chest and they have to puncture me each time to draw blood and pump in chemicals. And it smarts. So I have a cream that I'm supposed to put on about an hour ahead of time to numb it up a little. You can't drive down my street faster than a couple miles per hour these days so I just rummaged around in my purse with one hand while keeping my eyes on the road, found and opened a tube by feel, and smeared a goodly glob on. Without looking. Sniff sniff. Sniff sniff. Mint? I don't remember that stuff smelling like mint...
I thought I took the travel size stuff out of my purse when I got out of the hospital...

What's The Difference?
Pithing a frog, pithing a child, same same to the pro-abort crowd. And if you call your-self pro-choice and vote that way you are fine with the pithing.

So...
In 2011 one of the FBI's most wanted, mob boss Whitey Bulger, was arrested by 5 agents after being on the run for 16 years. Bulger had been indicted for, among many other things, 19 murders.
I repeat: FIVE agents arrested Bulger, a mobster with a violent track record.
On Friday, TWENTY-NINE agents in body armor and with weapons drawn, having previously positioned media to capture the event, rousted Roger Stone and his wife out of bed and arrested Stone for white-collar "crimes" which he had not committed until he was questioned over and over until at some point his answers weren't exactly the same.
Liberals are celebrating this. So are the ghosts of the Gestapo and Stazi.

Irony In New York
The New York state legislature has passed a bill making abortion legal up to birth, removed protections for babies who survive an abortion, and removed the requirement that a physician perform the abortion.
One of the ironies lies with what that bill says to the black community of New York. Under slavery, a black child had worth. It was largely the monetary worth of livestock, but at least a negro child had the protection that monetary worth provided. Under the Democrat legislature of New York, that monetary worth has been moved into the hands of abortion mills like Planned Parenthood. Since 1967, an estimated 20,350,000 black children have been aborted. That's 20,350,000 black American citizens who have never been allowed to chose to love, to work, to create, to have children, to vote: in short, they never had any choices at all. New York has now enshrined in state law what we already knew Planned Parenthood and its compadres believe: even when they can control their vote, blacks are worth more to Democrats dead than alive.

Oh Good Grief
Nan, you don't own Congress any more than you own our military aircraft. From a little document called the U.S. Constitution:
Article Two, Section Three:
"He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to time of adjournment, adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States."
The "he" being the President. Originally I was OK with Trump giving the SOTU address from the Oval Office or maybe the border. Pelosi's response to Trump today makes me all in favor of him invoking his right to convene both the Senate and House and telling them to have their asses in their seats on the date and at the time he specifies.

Note To Self
Dear Self,
The lamp chimney is made of glass. It gets hot. When the power comes back on after an outage, do not absentmindedly grab the chimney with your bare hand when blowing the flame out.

And then...
...the power went off. Peaceful, quiet, and 14 degrees out. RealFeel of 0. The circle of warmth around the big kerosene heater is quickly becoming very small. Hope they get it fixed quick. I have carbon monoxide detectors on both floors but I really don't relish the idea of running the space heaters all night. And I was watching "Vanity Fair." I love all versions of "Vanity Fair." The Battle of Waterloo is still going on...

The Real Women's March
..happened today.
And the hundreds of thousands who gathered were largely ignored.
Decades ago, a handful of women and a couple men who had serious financial interests in the legalization of abortion determined what "feminists" were to think. As a result, today's "feminists" have allowed themselves to be used as objects, and march tomorrow to DEMAND that they be used as such. No matter what they say, their demands and actions lead to objectification and objectification only. They have denied DNA and genetics, doing mental gymnastics and name-calling to avoid the reality of humanity, raising intellectual laziness and dishonesty to a fine art. They have denied their own specialness and denied the specialness of the women around them. They, not any man no matter how perfidious, are the betrayers of women.

"...First As Tragedy Then As Farce"
The whole quote being "History repeats itself, first as tragedy then as farce."
History is definitely repeating itself: see "election of socialists and anti-Semites" and "ideology without information" as proof of that. And we've charged right into farce along with that.
Recent cases in point:
Sirius XM host David Webb was interviewing CNN analyst Areva Martin when she lectured him on his white privilege. There's just one problem:
Yeah, the problem would be that Webb is black. Way to keep mindlessly spouting the narrative, Areva. With you and Acosta, the saying "You can't make this stuff up" more than applies.
And then there's the "fact checking." The Washington Post fact-checked Trump's comment about there being a "mile high" stack of hamburgers at the White House Clemson reception. I'll just leave that there. You can't get much more farcical than that.
But they'll try.

Best Idea I've Heard in Ages
I've heard that TSA employees are sicking out - refusing to come to work without pay. I've also heard that the numbers doing so have been exaggerated. Whichever. It doesn't really matter.
Because, as I heard someone point out this morning, we don't need them. International airports are borders. If we are going to have open borders, why do we need the TSA? We should be removing security from our airports to allow free flow through them.
Oh, also heard that folks climbed over the wall at one of Nancy Pelosi's properties and demanded entry to the house. AND WERE ESCORTED OFF THE PROPERTY. But I thought walls are immoral and we should have open borders?

They Do Know, Don't They?
All those folks screaming that Trump should "reopen the government" and that the "shutdown" is Trump's fault do know, don't they, that he can't wave a magic wand to do that?
They do know that he has to have a funding bill on his desk to sign or veto and that Congress has not given him one. Because the dems have been busy.
Jim Acosta proving Trump's point about a wall. |

Maxine and Nancy went to the Bahamas and Hawaii. |
Dem senator Bob Menendez got some sun and fun in Puerto Rico along with 30 other dems. |
Because, priorities, you know.

Here They Come Again
Di Fi is reintroducing the already-proven-a-failure "assault weapons" ban. And various RINOs have come out in favor of things like "high capacity" magazine bans. All I've got to say was said, or sung, decades ago by the Dave Clark Five:

How come...
...when they are pushing gun laws it's "for the children" and "If it saves just one life..." but when it comes to illegal immigration, which has resulted in the loss of many lives, of many children, those same lives don't matter?
And how come when they talk about the furloughed federal workers who, they say, are suffering due to the partial shut down, they don't mention that federal employees will be made whole again after this but the people who have been killed by illegals will never again be going to work, hugging their children, having dinner with family or friends, loving a spouse? That neither they nor the families they were taken from can EVER be made whole again?

All He Really Needs To Do...
...is play audios of Schumer, Pelosi, the Clintons, etc., speaking out against illegal immigration before they realized that liberal policies had insured that they need the illegals for votes. Then simply provide the statistics provided by the government agencies involved with border security. Trump really doesn't need to do much other than that.

Scritch, Scritch, Scritch
That's the sound of me scratching my somewhat bristly head in puzzlement. Donald Trump is vulgar, crude, un-presidential. But a dem saying that they are "going to impeach the motherf***er" is OK? Huh.

It Will Be The Season...
... soon enough. As one who has had Lyme disease, I encourage folks to brush up on their identification skills.
