Try a tranny flush where they disconnect the lines to the radiator (cooling lines) and attach them to a pump that flushes the torque converter and transmission. Should cost under $150. Anything you buy will need repairs. The question is how soon. If you put in a remanufactured transmission, how many months/years service can you expect from the vehicle.
