Feral hogs are easier to spot (been hiking in Hawaii while stationed there, they are rather noisy in the underbrush) than snakes, and easier to shoot (bigger target), so if given a choice, I think I'd choose the pigs vs. the snakes. You get more meat off the pigs, too.RabidAlienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07035887632706442114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1938438889241366279.post-36199992897595057602013-12-05T13:53:46.154-08:002013-12-05T13:53:46.154-08:00It never works out well when alien species are int...It never works out well when alien species are introduced to control another problem species. You always had to look before opening a storm shutter or trash can, anything that had been sitting for more than a day. My question is....why don't they trap some of the feral hogs here in Texas (reducing that population) and reintroduce them in Guam? Hogs eat snakes. Guam has too many snakes. Texas has too many feral hogs (adaptable, too!). Hawaii has zero snake population due to the introduction of hogs. Hmmm....RabidAlienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07035887632706442114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1938438889241366279.post-16636691207221725032013-12-05T10:05:32.276-08:002013-12-05T10:05:32.276-08:00Excellent point, particularly since this snake has...Excellent point, particularly since this snake has proved so very adaptable.ProudHillbillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14305205710265854978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1938438889241366279.post-39084111985183221042013-12-05T10:01:41.881-08:002013-12-05T10:01:41.881-08:00Naw, what it will do is just thin the herd a bit, ...Naw, what it will do is just thin the herd a bit, so the ones that are left are the biggest strongest, most resistant to acetominephen.Jonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05920772209272112515noreply@blogger.com
