All Over Again

History repeats.  It's happening all over again.

The White House says that we need a political solution.  The world is on fire.  The same brutal barbarians that have swarmed it repeatedly since the 7th century are slaughtering their way across the Middle East and Africa, and infiltrating the rest of the world, leaving a blood trail in Europe and America.  A trail that's only going to get bloodier. And we have no Roland, no Richard Lionheart, no Jan Sobieski, no Charles Martel.

Where jihad goes, it slaughters.  Right now what they are showing us are only the images of adults.  Horrific, but adults.

But where jihadists go, they torture, crucify, rape, and murder.  Men, women, children.

The Yazidi of Iraq cry out: first their men are executed, then the women and children are sold into slavery.  Slavery, Jesse Jackson.  Slavery, Al Sharpton.  Slavery, Barack Obama.  First, though, the girl children are raped.  Eight years old, nine years old.  Eight. Years. Old.  In keeping with islam's founder's tradition, I guess.

For those who have trouble relating, as many must since they are happy to let little brown people take care of problems like drilling for oil rather than take responsibility for it on our own land, this is what an eight year old looks like:

Giver her brown eyes and dark hair.  Make her one of the little brown people.  That's who they are raping.

Now, I realize that things are a little different for women in the U.S. It's clear that the women of the U.S. believe that women are so emotion-driven, so unable to keep their legs from flopping open at the drop of a pair of pants, that they have to demand to be provided with free contraception.  And that that is The Most Important Thing In The World. If they didn't believe that they wouldn't be using the ACA to bludgeon businesses like Hobby Lobby or religious organizations like the Little Sisters of the Poor.  But other cultures are different.  Maybe the women and children taken by the jihadis believe that their bodies are not something to be thrown away.  And maybe American women should think about that as they slavishly support a guy who is watching a repeat of the 30s and says that it can be handled with a political solution.  Between rounds of golf. And selfies.

And oh, by the way, Chris Cuomo, you are a moron.  As is anybody who agrees with you.  Because if our rights come from the government then the Holocaust was justified.  The Reich was the government.  In your world, the Reich was the source of rights for its people.

Lie

It's been years since the New York Times actually reported rather than opinionated, and their recent Jack Chick-like cartoon is multicolored proof of their inability to print the truth.

I know that the problem comes from being liberal - liberals don't view facts as necessary to their statements.  It's all about how they feel and hey, if a lie makes them feel superior, well then the lie is justified.

The lie is that the Hobby Lobby suit is about them denying contraceptives to their employees.   It's not.  Hobby Lobby already provides coverage for contraceptives.  What they are refusing to do is to be involved with abortifacients,  which kill a new human being rather than preventing conception.

But liberals lie.  It's easier for them than telling the truth is.

Here's The Thing

Right now things are crazy.  There is a clear and present danger to one particular right enumerated in the Bill of Rights.  But on top of my concern about that particular right, there's a layer of annoyance.

I sort of get why this has happened the way it has - guns and ammo are physical things.  They are possessions that can be physically taken from someone.  But major portions of the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, have been ignored and violated repeatedly over the last few years.  Except for the occasional court case like Hobby Lobby, the battle for the religious rights abrogated by this administration and its supporters barely merits a peep anymore.  And no one seems to notice the steady extension of power that is being given to agencies like Homeland Security - an agency I don't think should ever have been created in the first place.

We are fortunate that Barack Obama is lazy.  If he had the drive of a Hitler, this would have already cascaded into a full fledged tyranny.  But the problem isn't just with this administration.  We have a Congress full of people who are far more concerned about maintaining their comfortable positions and power and in pandering than than they are concerned about the Constitution they swore to uphold.

This administration is blatant.  But it was preceded by ones that meant well, but set the table for this.

All of which is underpinned by two generations who have had an easy life compared to the generations who came before.  The "Me Generation" has been rolled into the "Gimme Generation", creating millions content  to just be fat, dumb, and happy.  They have little concept of what true want or lack of freedom means, and having no interest in history, slide through life with equally little concept of what their decisions mean.

The ability to think analytically and to sustain a rational, fact-based debate is virtually invisible.  What I hear would not pass muster for a high school debating team, and yet it drives policy.

So, what do we do now?  Let's say the administration backs down on this.  But this is just a piece of what's wrong.  Where do we go from here?
