Took the Savage Mark II rifle. Got a scope. Got scope mounted. Ran to the range to try new scope out. Stapled cardboard and target onto frame. Hiked frame down the range. Hiked myself back up. Opened rifle case and... Did I mention that I was painting numbers on my magazines the other night and left them laying out on the hassock downstairs to dry?
Been there, done that...of course I always hitch my trousers and say, "Meant to do that."
ReplyDeleteDone that too. Now there's a packing checklist on my phone I review every trip. I still rarely get out of neighborhood without pulling over to double check something in the bad. :-/
ReplyDeleteDone that. There's something to be said for an internal magazine, sometimes. But a bolt-action .270 is a far cry from an M1 Garand, ya know?
ReplyDeleteOopsie... At least you didn't bring the mags and forget the ammo... sigh... BTDT

ReplyDeleteAnother shooting rite of passage checked off. I suspect that we've done it at least once...or will.
ReplyDeleteDid you at least have your bayonet? That cardboard wouldn't have had a chance!
ReplyDelete@All - And there isn't a chance I will compete for a spot at the range on a weekend. So no instant gratification for me.
