Last year or maybe the year before. There's a little park with a lake down the street from The Kids. Walk the dog, walk the kid, feed the fish, whatever. And we headed over there only to find the loop around the lake packed. Mostly with 20-something folks who were flabby, pale, and staring at their cell phones as they looped around said lake. Turns out it is a major collection site for an on-line game I can't even remember the name of. Pokeman?
I have two questions. 1) is species Homo Sapiens on its way out? and 2) what the hell is wrong with society if we are concerned about beating these people in an election?
1) Not yet, but it'll be easy picking if it comes to that.
ReplyDelete2) Our focus is on the wrong thing. Never mind beating them; we have to keep a certain subset from cheating to the extent that they succeed in beating us.

ReplyDeleteConcur with the above... They are locked into their own little worlds, never looking at, much less understanding the big picture.
