Especially for me, who is partially deaf, but the acoustics of most stores sets off the tinnitus that I have had since pert near close to birth. Half an hour in an acoustically active building like a gym, a store without sound baffling or such, makes me functionally deaf, and I do rely on lip reading a lot.
I have actually asked pharmacy techs and doctors to take their masks off so I can understand what they're saying. Most, even when standing 6' from me, with a plexiglass sneeze shield between, refuse. So I have actually not gotten service because I can't understand what is being said.
And they won't write it down and hold it up to the darned sneeze shield either.
How is it? It sucks, totally sucks.

ReplyDeleteI hate that when I walk into a place nobody can see me smile at them.
