Anyone familier with the area knows that to get from WV to MD you have to cross two bridges. In between there's your basic straight up on one side, straight down on the other 2 lane road. There's been problems with rock slides there for years. Cumulating in this about 5:30 this am.
It's an "I told you so" incident. Clear cutting wide swaths of the slope above. Which creates more run-off. Which destabilizes the slope. Which led to people pointing out that there were now boulders that were simply being held in place by a small tree. Campaigning was done. Funds were allocated. But...
Fortunately the driver escaped with "just" broken ribs.
Wow, at least they survived!!!
