Oh, Ugh.

The guessing game begins.  At least this site is honest enough to call it "First Guess".  We live right on the line between the 2 to 4 and 4 to 6 inch prediction areas.  Guess this storm bears watching, although Accuhunch isn't as dire right now.

I don't drink cow's milk and I have tp already stocked, so I guess I don't have to do the grocery store fight.  Although this always makes me want to run out and buy junk food.  Chocolate cake in particular.

    1. No, no thank you. I've decided that Winter is against my religion as it is.

    1. If it looks like the roads get glittery I refuse to go out. This community wasn't made for winter living - many of our streets go straight up and down the mountain rather than switchbacking and it gets too exciting.

    1. Got a kerosene heater for that, thanks. Hate the smell but I can warm the whole house with it AND boil water on its top.

    1. Ew. Hopefully snow first so sleet is crust on top, not sleet then snow on top.

    1. In theory. In my world, however, chocolate cake, pizza, and beer make up the primary level of the food pyramid.

  6. Ice on the bridges in the Hill Country in Texas this morning. Saw a rollover accident on my way in this morning. So, if it's this bad this far south, you folks further north are in for a doozy.

    1. I'm going to have to head in to work for an hour or so sometime today to prepare some paperwork (oh, the delicious irony...filling out paperwork for my new job by using the printer/fax at my crap...er...current job due to my printer at home being on the fritz!). The DFW area is pretty much shut down. I live two blocks away from a major highway, and can usually hear it from my back yard. Nada today.

    2. Oh, it was fun driving! Wife and kiddo came along (cabin fever, plus the added bonus of lunch!), highways were fine except for the brave souls pokin' along the interstate doin 15mph (not a typo). Side/back streets weren't too bad, the main roads had well-defined paths and a lot of ice-melt puddles (temps were in the 70's-80's earlier this week, so the ground is still pretty warm). Taking corners was fun, and there was a bit of adventure when the icepack on the roof of the truck decided to finally succumb to the internal temps and let loose, sliding down over the windshield as we approached a red light. Got stopped, hit the flashers (nobody was behind us, but why take chances?), and spent a green-light cycle removing large, 1.5" thick sheets of ice from the windshield. I look at that sort of thing as "adventure". My wife looks at it as "disaster/stress/OMGWeNearlyDied" (tm). Opposites attract, I guess.
