So I go down to the laundry room today. And there's water all over the floor. My hot water heater has expired. Just as I had to replace an expensive window sash, some electronics in the SUV have gone flooey (and it's not fuses - pulled a bunch of them today), the kittens are becoming hidiously expensive, and I'm still struggling with the tax debt that the retirement folks caused me when they stopped deducting for state taxes in February and I didn't catch the change in deductions.
I may just curl into a fetal position in the corner and cry.
You should just come to New Orleans and get drunk for a week.
ReplyDeletePost lots of kitten pictures. How can you not smile while checking out the cuteness overload...plus I am feeling deprived.

I hear you.
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat except for the taxes.
Hang in there.
Sorry to hear about all that; hang in there, and remember that everything is transient. "It came to pass ..."; it didn't come to stay.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all. The good news is that a neighbor picked the new one up and installed it for $100, which is way cheaper than it would have been if I had to have Home Depot do it. The bad news is that we attached a hose and left the old one draining when we went buy the new one and came back to find that before it was completely empty whatever was giving way dumped the rest of the water all over laundry room. The good news is that it was a 50 gal tank and there were only a few gallons left. The bad news is that for some inexplicable reason the builder didn't put a drain in the concrete floor.

ReplyDeleteSo...other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
