Just Curious

The lucky folks that were off having a good time at the NRA convention in Indianapolis may have been disconnected enough not to have seen the latest from Chicago:  from Friday through Sunday there were 40 shootings, 5 of them fatal.  Chicago being, as it were, a gun free zone.

Which made me wonder:  anybody know what the stats were for Indianapolis during the same time period?  A time period when a whole bunch of bitter-clinging, gun-toting, evil NRA members flooded the area? Just curious. Kinda bet I can guess, even taking into account the fact that Indy is a smaller city.

  1. I know with 75,000+ there were NO incidents... :-)

    1. Although there were probably plenty of "I want!"s as people drooled over new toys.

  2. I'm sure there was blood running in the streets in Indy; that's what all the fear-mongers predict, every year.

  3. I came back home with the same amount of holes in my body as when I arrived!

  4. One of the IMPD officers outside the convention center mentioned that it was real quiet crime-wise in the downtown area during the convention. He didn't wonder why either.

  5. It's always a lot quieter when the bad guys know the good ones are armed. I have homes in both Indy and Chicago. I feel a whole lot safer in Indy.

    1. Homeowners in Detroit have shot so many intruders recently that I wonder if the crooks are considering moving someplace safer like Chicago or Baltimore.
