Back in the 90's, I worked with a Russian guy that brought his family here from the Ukraine. He got permission from the Russian government to visit his parents in Israel, but when changing planes in Italy, got on a plane to the US instead. This was back when political asylum could be granted.Anyway, I digress. He is the most politically conservative person I think I have ever met. As we would discuss current events, he would frequently comment "I've seen that tried before. It doesn't work."
I knew someone who lived in the Soviet Union for a while and my agency went into countries like Romania to help them after the USSR's collapse. Not only had Marxism left them with a miserable life-style but it destroyed the work ethic of 2 generations.
Amen the Dippycraps have all of the answers, they just do not know what the questions are.
Well, if it SOUNDS good, it will work, dontcha know.
