...the power went off. Peaceful, quiet, and 14 degrees out. RealFeel of 0. The circle of warmth around the big kerosene heater is quickly becoming very small. Hope they get it fixed quick. I have carbon monoxide detectors on both floors but I really don't relish the idea of running the space heaters all night. And I was watching "Vanity Fair." I love all versions of "Vanity Fair." The Battle of Waterloo is still going on...
Kerosene heaters might be a little safer, but sleep light, amiga, til' the juice is back on...
ReplyDeleteLooks like something blew over at the substation. It was weird because the lights didn't even flicker when we had that ferocious wind over the weekend. It was nice and quiet and then without a flicker to warn us it was nice and quiet and dark.
DeleteBummer!! I hate when that happens, especially when I am watching something I like on TV. We seem to loose power here way more often in the summer than in winter...not sure why, but that has been the pattern. It sucks not to have the A/C in August, but it really sucks not to have heat in January!! Wrap up in lots of blankets and crack a window.
ReplyDeleteI was right in the middle of Waterloo. Yeah, I know how yhat ends but...
DeleteI miss those winter power outages up there. Now when it goes out here, the only worry is how to drink all the beer in the fridge before it gets warm.
ReplyDeleteLol! We actually don't get that many but we've had so much rain and wind that our luck is running out. It went out again in the wee hours for a while.
