Government is closed, almost. Teleworkers are required to work if we have power and internet. Fudge. I'd rather read.
Hope all weathered it well. I know the northeast will be cleaning up for months to come. Lest anybody think that sometimes storms are over-hyped: what would have happened had this one been treated casually?
Wall Street meets Sandy, Oct. 29, 2012 |
Yep, we came through okay too, and teleworking too... Any snow out your way? Thoughts and prayers for those up in the NE though. THEY got hammered
ReplyDeleteNope, not a flake. Creative Minority Report, who lives overlooking Fire Island, sums up the New York damage today in his post this morning: http://www.creativeminorityreport.com/2012/10/i-looked-and-there-was-nothing.html.
DeleteNow the those nice folks in New England understand why us folks here in Florida keep puckered butts during hurricane season. I pray for them, they have one heck of a mess on their hands.
ReplyDeleteYeah boy! And folks that have spent their lives in a dense urban area probably take an awful lot for granted that Sandy has shut down.
DeleteI saw the pics of stripped grocery shelves, and thought "they make fun of us for stockpiling food & supplies ... and think we're crazy." I'm glad you had naught worse than a spilled glass to worry about.
ReplyDeletePeople apparently buy milk even if they don't drink milk, which is pretty funny. I heard that by Sunday the shops around here had been pretty stripped. Except for meat - fear of power loss kept people from buying meat.
