So the woman who runs our "Catholics Returning Home" program walked up to me and asked if I'd give a presentation on the Sacraments of Initiation plus the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I said yes. Why did I say yes? I mean, that's face palm right there. I spent 34 years refusing to give presentations at work. I did 2 at the last because I knew that there would be zero people in the room who knew anything about what I was talking about. And Powerpoint. I had Powerpoint. You can entertain a lot with Powerpoint. I don't have Powerpoint for this.
Did I mention that it's in three weeks? Yeah. My kitchen table is covered with books with colored place markers in them. Plus, of course, the Bible. Today I covered the questions of "What is initiation?" (Abraham and circumcision as primary example) and "Initiation into WHAT?" (Jesus smacking Saul down and asking why he was persecuting Him, which tells you what the Church is) questions. Then there's the history, symbolism, and reality of Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, and Reconciliation. I mean, 2,000 years of teachings and experience compressed into a 1/2 hour talk. No pressure.
I'm trying to convince myself that it's OK because it's Lent and I'm supposed to suffer.

Fudge
I know I'm dating myself, but I walk like Grandpa.
But the knee is slowly improving. I have to put the brace on when using stairs or I'm on my feet for a while, but there's more range of movement without pain.
You'd think it would be a good time for blogging, February and bum knee and all. Except no matter what browser I use the stupid computer grinds and grinds and gives me a "Not Responding" or just fights me doing anything involving the internet. I don't think it's bandwidth - once I get to Netflix I stream fine. And using the cell phone and the web works fine. Norton says it can't find anything bad. So I'm thinking that there's a conflict somewhere - something on the computer that doesn't play well with something in browsers.
But I can't figure it out. So I'm doing everything via right index finger and cell phone.
Which is a bloody nuisance.

I Have Just One Word
Bork.
So shut up and sod off you shallow, hypocritical bunch of contemptable, history-ignorant twits.

Ain't Working
You can only reset so many times before conceeding that it's broken.
There isn't an idea that Bernie has that hasn't failed elsewhere. Those that point to supposed socialist paradises like Sweden have no clue of how those countries have gone into economic slides as their socialist policies have done a slow motion erosion of the quality of life of its citizens.
But it was a joy to see him beat Hillary like a drum yesterday.

Garter Belt
I need one. To hold this stupid brace up.
+$100 for an immobilization brace that only works as long as I don't move. No matter how tight I strap it, the instant I have to walk it starts loosening up and sliding down. By the time I get to the bathroom the bottom is resting down near my ankle and the only reason my knee isn't bending is that I'm consciously working at keeping it straight. It even shifts when I'm sleeping at night.
It's annoying enough that I'm thinking of asking the orthopedic surgeon to put a cast on it. I think it would be easier to crutch around and deal with showering with my leg in a trash bag than the way it is now.

This Is A Kneecap...
This is what I did to my kneecap Sunday before last.
I finally got around to going to the doctor today because I was tired of the healing seeming to be stalled and was thinking maybe just powering through wasn't the best approach. Or maybe they'd have some suggestions as to how to help it along. They did - stop walking/driving on it. The doctor and x-ray tech were amazed that I was able to walk on it to start with.
Guess that answers whether or not I'm going back to the range on Friday. But at least I have an excuse not to clean house.

If I Had That Kind Of Luck...
...I'd be down at the local casino all the time.
Setting aside the fact that Democrats are choosing candidates by coin tosses, are we really supposed to believe that all 6 tosses came up for Hillary?
Yeah, Bill didn't have sex with that woman, either.
