What he said.

The Christaphobes went nuts over the Dan Cathy interview recently.  For those who don't recognize the name, he's the openly Christian head of Chick-Fil-A.  The usual self-avowed promoters of tolerance (read "liberals") came out immediately with their usual threats, statements that the fast food chain would and should be denied building permits, and obscene and vicious tweets.  For the record, here is the portion of the interview concerning marriage that spawned the righteous indignation:

Some have opposed the company's support of the traditional family. "Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position.

"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.

"We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized.

"We intend to stay the course," he said. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."

Such a violent and vicious statement against gays!  Terrible, terrible!  Particularly in view of the evenhanded openness of the tolerance crew who responded to it.  I've never eaten at Chick-Fil-A.  Ever - I'm not a fast food person.  But the tolerance crew has made sure that I will be eating there on Wednesday, and regularly after.

  1. Yep. Thinking I'll make an appearance at my local Chik-Fil-A, too.

    1. The nastiness probably will cause tomorrow to be a banner sales day.

  2. I likes me my Chik-Fil-A and have for a long time. They are also closed on Sundays, giving up that lucrative business day so that any employees who work there can attend church.

    1. I looked at their on-line menu - it looks like there's a breakfast that involves gravy over fried things. That's always a winner for me.

  3. I'd love to support them by eating there, but they closed their only outlet (in a mall food-court) here sometime in the last 4 years. The next closest location is in Boise, some 1,600 miles from here.

    Oh, well.

    1. oh come on Rev. Paul.... make it a weekend excursion. :)

I went this last week to the new location here in town and it's good although the service was terribly slow. I'll be back though.

  4. We don't eat there all that often because like you, I don't care too much for fast food and I am not a huge fan of chicken sandwiches, but I am going to visit them a few more times just to show support.

I don't really care if someone is gay or not, but I am sick to death of the threats from these people.

    1. They don't serve beer, which puts them at a disadvantage with me :-)

Yes, it's the constant "We have to be tolerant of others" from people who then who turn around and are nasty and vile to others as soon as those others disagree with them. The "as long as you agree with me" small print.

  5. Shelby - the chicken and fruit salad and the southwest salad are awesome.

I ate there three times last week. It's close to work, the food is really good and they treat every customer like family, no matter who you are or what YOU believe.

There isn't one where I'm at for tomorrow or I'd be there for the spicy chicken sandwich topped with a side order of their slaw. I don't think they have gravy at our location but the little chikn mini's (little breaded nuggets on a tiny yeast roll with honey butter) is a pretty darn good breakfast.

  6. I don't particularly 'like' their chicken, but I'm eating there at least twice a week in support (and the one I go to has gotten MUCH busier).

  7. Had them for dinner last night. Their chicken is good, their waffle fries are in desperate need of some salt (or Ranch...everything is better with Ranch), and their sweet tea is excellent.

    1. I think a lot of places figure you can add salt if you want more but you can't get rid of it if you feel it's over salted.

  8. From what I've heard, the Gay-cott is not working so well. Seems Chick-fil-A's sales have taken an up-tick.

    1. Thought it might. Nastiness like what we have seen can have a backlash.
