Works Well There

From the Encyclopedia of Chicago:

Since the early 1970s, Chicago and its suburban municipalities have taken a national lead in enacting firearms control legislation. Citizens' groups such as the Committee for Handgun Control, formed in 1973 and renamed Illinois Citizens for Handgun Control in 1982, have worked together with city politicians and police to pass some of the nation's toughest gun control laws.
From various Chicago news sources:
Three men are dead and at least 28 other people wounded from gun violence across the city since Friday night. July 23, 2012
Fifteen people were shot Tuesday evening in Chicago over a six-hour period on the eve of the mid-week Fourth of July holiday.  July 4, 2012
Three people were killed, and seven others were injured, in shootings during the day Thursday...July 7, 2012
Four teens – two 13-year-olds and two 16-year-olds – were shot within a half hour in the city's Englewood and Gresham neighborhoods on the South Side, according to police.
The four were among at least 10 people shot overnight in attacks on the city's South and West Sides.  July 22, 2012
Four men were killed and at least 19 other people, including a 16-year-old boy, were wounded in overnight shootings across the city, according to police. July 5, 2012
At least eight people were killed and 40 others were injured in separate shootings in a violent weekend in Chicago.  June 10, 2012
And on and on and on.  Repeat after me:  The bad guys don't care about gun laws.

  2. From Webster's Dictionary:

CRIMINAL: : guilty of crime; also : of or befitting a criminal

    and

    CRIME:
    noun \ˈkrīm\
    1
: an act or the commission of an act that is forbidden or the omission of a duty that is commanded by a public law and that makes the offender liable to punishment by that law; especially : a gross violation of law
    2
: a grave offense especially against morality

So. Basically. A Criminal is one who commits a crime. A crime is an act forbidden by law. So...one who commits acts forbidden by law is a criminal. And making MORE laws is gonna mean what to them? I have to agree with all of the above: those who would enact more laws to "stop" those who don't follow the laws to begin with are idiots who seriously lack any form of analytical thinking.
