Lent is over, the Triduum begins today. Tonight we will commemorate the establishment of the Eucharist and the priesthood.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”(Matthew 26:26-29)
"And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: 'All power is given to Me in Heaven and in earth. Going
therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation ofthe world." (Matthew 28:18-20)
