I'm Beginning To Think...

... that maybe the solution to my dislike of Winter is simply to be out in it during the day doing fun stuff.  Like shooting.  Or walking.  Used to be that I'd have to be working during the daylight hours.

Had shelter duty last night and didn't get much sleep.  I'm not generally a napper, but I had to lay down for a bit after I got home this morning.  Woke up to a nice snow fall.  Went off for a walk in it.  It was lovely.  I was sorry when I saw the clouds breaking.

Some of the residents of this house appreciate Winter, because that's when I fire up the space heaters.  First we toast one side, then we toast another...

  1. With our short winter days up here, getting out into the daylight while it lasts is critical. Darkness can make the most stalwart of winter-lovers decide to curl up & sleep through. So yes, you're onto something.

    1. I've started off on walks a couple times recently only to discover too much ice even with my walking sticks. But I'm trying to get out for an hour as often as slickiness lets me.

  2. You must get out into it, you are correct. Then take up something you can only do in the snow - like skiing ;)

  4. PH, I love to visit snow. A fresh coat of powder on a ski run is a most beautiful thing.
Living in it is a whole 'nuther thing.

    1. Our snow is variable. Very little this winter. Some winters much more. We're prone to ice, too, which is a whole nuther story.
