I live in Michigan. We don't have cotton mouth snakes, we don't have alligators, a hot day in summer is 90. We have some of the best fishing and the cleanest rivers and lakes you could every see. Hunting is fantastic, the turkey population is so huge, you see them anywhere now. They are in cities, in parks, I mean, when I was a kid, they didn't have turkeys anywhere. As long as you don't go near Detroit, you can get by with only carrying a handgun. If you plan on going near Detroit, you need a modern sporting rifle, and backup. I live on the west side, right on lake michigan, and right about half way up the lower penninsula. other than the 3 months of winter, I would not trade it for anything. It really is beautiful here. I often forget just how lucky I am.
