There's A Moment...

...when you realize that Winter is over.  That no matter what it does next week or even the week after, Winter is done.  The temps will jiggle up and down, but trend up.  We may have snow and ice, but it will be temporary.  Despite the hard Winter, the daffodils are already poking through in the front yard.  And I heard robins twice this weekend - they're coming out of the deep woods where they wintered.  Spring's coming.  It's very close now.

  1. Robins were everywhere this morning when I was out walking the dog. Spring is on the way - only 3 weeks of winter left.

  2. My official attitude is that as soon as the last Iditarod musher crosses the finish line in Nome, it's time for the snow to go. Since the race starts on the 1st, this year, does that mean we can have an early Spring? Probably not ... but it would be okay with me!

  6. Walking the dog has gone back to being pleasant (not to mention non-life-threatening). Mornings are earlier, evenings are later. Fired up the chimenea and sat out there with the Mrs and some wine both evenings this past weekend.

Winter is fading, Spring is on the way. You can smell it, and hear it, in the woods. I love the changing of the seasons.

Still need a couple more ski trips though. One of them will be this weekend. Better plan the other one soon.

    1. Sat on a friend's deck and drank a pitcher of margaritas on Sunday. In shirt sleeves and surrounded by snow.
