  2. That could have been my youngest son, when he was that age. He was ROTC in high school, then after a couple of years of being married and having a daughter, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, to have a better chance to support his family. He enlisted for 6 years, spent almost 2 years just training for his job, as a Sonar Tech, deployed on a tour that found him at the Arctic Circle, doing some neat things to counter the Russians that they never knew about, then was sent on a goodwill tour, but had to extend 8 months, 2 weeks in, they were diverted to the Arabian Sea, to keep check on the Iranians. The almost came to blows several times, the Iranians were not very disciplined, but they were very aggressive in coming very close to our ships. He flew back from Oman, with several other shipmates, who were also overdue to get out.
He now works for the city of Ashland, KY, where he lived since he was 9. I just now saw this, but this young man is being raised by some very good parents.
