  1. Cute kid. But on this anniversary of Independence Day, I feel more like mourning than celebration.

  3. Ours has loved fireworks since the first time she saw them....as a 6-month-old. It'll be another week before she stops asking to go see more of "her" fireworks every night ("they love me, Daddy!"). Word of caution with your little firework, watch out for the backblast. It can be...messy. LOL

Agreed with Rev. Paul. Went to church Sunday morning, as usual, and they kept their patriotic portion of the service to just a single spotlight on a guitarist doing a Hendrix-esque National Anthem. I stood up and put my hand over my heart, and noticed a handful of others in the congregation do the same. It wasn't until about a quarter of the way through that the rest of the congregation joined in standing. Sad. I can understand hanging the flag backwards, not everyone is versed in flag etiquette, but seriously...not knowing you're supposed to stand during the National Anthem?!? And since this is your blog, not a RabidAlien-spleen-venting-forum, I'm not even gonna get started on the politics...

    1. All of which causes me to have a rule - nobody gets to complain to me when all the garbage that's going down starts affecting them negatively.
