...my sweet Blackberry. You lived twice as long as average with thyroid disease. Your heart was bad and both eyes were taken over by melanoma. Yet you almost made it to 18 - a goodly age for a cat. And to the last, even as your kidneys failed, you liked to snuggle with me as I read. As well as occasionally investigating the bathroom waste basket.
I'm so sorry.

ReplyDeleteMy condolences, PH.
ReplyDelete@Everybody - Thanks. Her loss has left me feeling strangely disconnected from the past. She arrived as an 8 week old kitten adopted to keep neurotic Blu, who I lost a couple years ago, company. It worked perfectly. Now they are both gone, all of her "sick room" stuff is out of my bedroom and bathroom, and this morning was the first in years that I didn't have to dispense medications to an ailing cat. It feels very strange.

ReplyDeleteI've been around for the passing of four cats and four dogs.
It's in no way pleasant.
